The people behind it.

WP/StB Stephan Hoppe

Co-founder of Oreamnos

Stephan Hoppe studied business informatics and is a German public auditor (Wirtschaftsprüfer) and tax advisor. At DATEV he developed modules for IT audit, so he knows audit software from the inside. After university he worked in audit and then moved to REWE Group.

There he audited in group internal audit, then took charge of the group-wide internal control system and most recently headed Group Financial Reporting with around 70 staff.

He then joined a mid-sized audit firm as managing director and partner and co-founded Oreamnos.

What runs through every stage: understanding, structuring and automating processes. That is what he brings to ore.

Roles and qualifications
  • Managing director of Oreamnos Audit GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft
  • Chairman of the supervisory board of Oreamnos GmbH
  • Quality control reviewer under § 57a WPO
  • University lecturer, currently at the Hochschule für Finanzwirtschaft & Management, Bonn (university of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe)
  • Degree in business informatics

Dmitri Steinbach

Co-founder of Oreamnos

Dmitri Steinbach studied media informatics and, after early projects in 3D modelling, quickly found his way into software development. On the team he is known as “the professor”: one keyword is enough and he explains off the cuff where a technology comes from and how it works. He works through every new framework until he knows what is behind it.

For companies he has done almost everything from IT administration to custom software. He has built ERP systems from the ground up and translated the operations of entire companies into lean processes. Corporate groups still bring him in as a consultant and have him train their developers, especially in working with AI.

At Oreamnos he is responsible for the architecture of ore, the tech stack and development. Especially with AI, it helps that he gets to the bottom of new technology quickly. On top of that come IT and software audits.

Roles and focus areas
  • Managing director of Oreamnos GmbH
  • Responsible for the architecture, tech stack and development of ore
  • Degree in media informatics
  • Development of custom software and ERP systems
  • Consulting and training for developer teams in corporate groups, including development with AI
  • IT and software audits

WP Thorsten Klein

Responsible for the professional substance of ore

Thorsten Klein trained as an industrial clerk and studied business administration at TH Köln, specialising in financial accounting, management and controlling. After positions at Audi and PwC he joined EY, most recently as manager and authorised signatory (Prokurist).

At EY he led audits in an international environment as the responsible auditor, many of them with SOX compliance and PCAOB requirements. From years of practice he knows what audit processes must look like to meet even the strictest regulatory requirements. Having also worked in mid-sized firms, he knows both sides of the profession.

At Oreamnos he makes sure that every feature of ore complies with the ISA and stands up to a quality control review. He ensures that new requirements reach ore immediately, and he is responsible for professional testing and professional development.

Roles and qualifications
  • Responsible for ISA compliance, professional testing and professional development of ore
  • German public auditor (Wirtschaftsprüfer)
  • Degree in business administration, TH Köln
  • Trained industrial clerk
  • Audits with SOX compliance and PCAOB requirements

Cedric Pauken

AI and e-government advisory

Cedric Pauken is a doctoral candidate in information systems at the University of Koblenz, focusing on e-government. He researches generative AI and large language models, and how to standardise and prepare heterogeneous data for such models. He is currently developing an AI assistant that checks procurement documents for construction works.

He contributes to the German standards for electronic procurement: XRechnung, XBestellung and XKatalog. In his master's thesis he specified XKatalog as the national standard for e-catalogues.

At Oreamnos he advises public authorities on e-government together with Andreas Schmitz, and the Landesbetrieb Mobilität Rheinland-Pfalz on AI. Like Andreas, he works on our research project to make the AI in ore safe and verifiable, so that our audit processes deliver the quality an auditing standard demands.

  • Research on safe and verifiable AI in ore
  • Master of Science in information systems, University of Koblenz
